01 Perfect Sight No Vision

Perfect Sight No Vision is the first and one of the most powerful protest songs written by Greg Stewart which he has been playing and performing at open mics throughout New York City for the past five years.

Although Greg finished writing this song five years ago he actually began writing it when Regan was still in office and carried the music and uncompleted lyrics around in his head until George Bush unfortunately gave Greg plenty of material to finish the song.

This version of Perfect Sight No Vision was recorded by Greg’s band Join The Opposition for their first cd which has recently been released and is currently available on Amazon Music MP3 for downloads and will soon also be available on itunes.

In a symbolic gesture Greg Stewart dressed as a dead soldier and created the character the “Unknown Soldier” in order to Wake Up America and help focus attention on the War in Iraq and the criminality of the George Bush Presidency. As the Unknown Soldier Greg performed “Perfect Sight No Vision” on multiple occasions including in front of the Military Recruitment Center in Times Square New York City, The Stock Exchange, The Supreme Court in Washington DC and the White House. Greg has recorded video of his solo protest with director of photography Matt Dimakos and posted videos of his live perfomances on youtube channel “jointheoppsotiion”, where you can currently view over 180 videos by Greg.

Most recently the band has uploaded a music video of “Perfect Sight No Vision” which can be seen on youtube channel ‘jointheopposition’ and which is titled “Sarah Palin + John McCain = More of the Same.

Greg Stewart is a New York City based musician who has been playing his original protest songs in and around NY for approximately seven years. Five years ago Greg began playing and recording his protest songs with his band Join The Opposition who have just released their first studio album "Join The Opposition" currently available at Amazon MP3 and shortly available on itunes.

Included on this excellent album are Greg's original songs "Perfect Sight No Vision", "War Profiteers", "National Artist", "Three Monkeys", "One Life Lost", and the soldier's ballad "When My Bullet Comes". The band has also done an incredibly powerful cover of the Pete Seeger / Lee Hays classic folk song "If I had a Hammer" which they also posted on youtube in an effort to add their voice in support of Barack Obama with the video "Hammer For Obama".

Also included on this new album are the techno crazy beats of the bonus track "False Witness" for which the band is currently filming their first live action video.

As an activist and musician Greg Stewart took to the streets on many occasions to join his voice with those to protest the War In Iraq and the presidency of George W. Bush. In 2006 Greg became so frustrated with the state of the Government and particularly the actions of Bush and Cheney, that he took his music to the streets and played dressed as a character he created and called the "Unknown Soldier". As the Unknown Soldier Greg first appeared in front of the Miliary Recruitment Center in Times Square New York City and the Stock Exchange where on election day in 2006 Greg publicly called for the immediate Impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney at the foot of the Stock Exchange during his first solo protest. Greg has since made appearances at multiple protests in New York and Washington DC, videotaped these appearances and posted all of his exploits as the Unknown Soldier in what is now over 180 videos posted on youtube channel "jointheoppposition".

Greg Stewart is currently working on marketing his music and editing together the highlights of his Unknown Soldier Videos into a feature documentary also titled "Join The Opposition". The purpose of this documentary is not only to tell the story of what has happened along this journey but also to inspire others to stand up and speak out in Opposition to War and Opression throughout the World.
